Stephen Warnock has claimed that Dejan Kulusevski has ‘really exciting’ potential at Tottenham, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.

The former Premier League defender added that the loan signing of Kulusevski from Juventus during the January transfer window was ‘really positive’ from Spurs.

Even though the Champions League-chasing side have had an up and down time of late, it has been some start by the club’s new 21-year-old flyer.

Kulusevski has scored two goals and assisted one from his five Premier League games and is already starting to cement his place in Antonio Conte’s team.

Nonetheless, when looking at the Sweden international, Warnock was full of praise for what he has seen so far from the Juventus loanee.

“The signs are there that they are improving,” said Warnock. “The signing of Kulusevski is really good and a really positive signing.

“He’s 21, but you look at his age and you go ‘the potential going forward, that is really exciting’.

“But Harry Kane doesn’t want future. He wants now. He wants to win trophies and in an ideal world he will want to win them with Tottenham.”

Usually, it’s Lucas Moura that joins Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son up top for Tottenham, but he has since been displaced by the club’s new left-footer.

Whilst Moura has all the talent in the world, can work in the tightest of spaces and can carry the ball for fun, he just doesn’t have that end product.

If Kulusevski can provide that then it will make Conte’s life a lot easier and it would also ease the pressure on the usual suspects – Kane and Son – having to do all the attacking work themselves.

And if Spurs want to add consistency to their game, then knocking Championship side, Middlesbrough, out of the FA Cup tonight would be a start.
