Danny Gabbidon has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur target, Gareth Bale, has been ‘world-class for so long now’.
On Sunday, Bale produced one of the greatest nights of his career when he helped Wales secure their ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
It’s the first time since 1958 that Wales are going to be competing on the world’s biggest footballing stage and Bale is going to be front and centre of it all.
With Bale’s Real Madrid contract expiring in June, there were some suggesting he could retire if Wales didn’t qualify for Qatar.
Well, all of that has now changed, as ex-Wales international, Gabbidon, spoke about where he could head next, as he told Sky Sports Football.
“I think so (on Bale’s retiring if Wales didn’t qualify),” said Gabbidon. “Obviously now, Cardiff City might see him. I am not sure.
“It will be interesting to see what happens with him now. He needs to keep himself ticking over now and playing games.
“I am so, so proud of everybody, but in particular, Gareth Bale, because he’s been a world-class player for so long now. He has constantly produced big moments for Wales over the years.”

IS A RETURN TO TOTTENHAM ON THE CARDS FOR BALE?
The last time Wales were heading to a major tournament – the delayed Euro 2020 – Bale headed back to Tottenham in order to get minutes under his belt.
Whilst he wasn’t a regular starter under Jose Mourinho, he did earn enough game time to get his engine warm enough for the Euros.
Many will now be questioning if history could repeat itself and the 32-year-old returns to Tottenham colours because there are suggestions that the Champions League side are open to the idea of him coming back.
Spurs are now under the guidance of Antonio Conte and he has proven before that he likes working with those experienced and proven players.
