Michael Brown told Super Saturday on Sky Sports that Patrick Bamford ‘didn’t seem pleased’ with Marcelo Bielsa taking him off during Leeds’ 2-1 win against Sheffield United.

With Leeds winning the Yorkshire derby 2-1, Bielsa opted to take off his top goalscorer after 65 minutes for Rodrigo.

There’s no doubt that Leeds were on top throughout the game, but the scoreline did make it that little tricky and difficult for the home side.

But Brown, who represented both Leeds and Sheffield United during his career, shared his thoughts on Bamford going off yesterday.

“We have seen that Patrick Bamford has been taken off by Marcelo Bielsa,” said Brown. “He didn’t seem pleased.

“There was no conversation between them. But they will be disappointed to lose their top-scorer, that’s for sure.

On Leeds performance: “They deserved it, but it wasn’t the best performance from Leeds United.

“But their supporters will be saying, ‘we are sat tenth in the league and are in the Premier League’. They are not there to see it, which is a big shame.”

Leeds are now going to become a seriously dangerous outfit for a lot of teams during these coming weeks.

They are safe from relegation, sitting comfortably in tenth spot, and with their all-action style, they are going to give sleepless nights to those who have a lot to play for during these remaining months.

Their three next fixtures – Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United is proof of that, especially the latter two.
