Alan Smith has written in The London Evening Standard that emerging attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is rated highly by many at Arsenal.

The former Arsenal striker, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, made the comment about Smith Rowe while analysing the young players and the future of the Gunners.

Smith wrote in The London Evening Standard: “We’re talking about youngsters with lots of potential such as Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock, Folarin Balogun and Emile Smith-Rowe, a player rated very highly by many at the club. Would it be out of the question to throw some in on Sunday to offer fresh ideas and enthusiasm?”

Big future ahead

Smith Rowe is part of the Arsenal first-team squad at the moment and has done well when he has been called into action.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder played well for the Gunners against Dundalk in the Europa League on Thursday evening and was praised by manager Mikel Arteta.

With Mesut Ozil not in the squad at the moment, Arsenal are lacking creativity, and perhaps Smith Rowe would be able to solve that.

Of course, the 20-year-old cannot be expected to carry the burden of creating chances on his own, but the youngster could be a good option to have for manager Arteta in the coming weeks and months.

Arsenal are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table and have also progressed to the knockout rounds of the Europa League this season.
