If rumours are to be believed, Arsenal want to sign Celtic hitman Odsonne Edouard this summer.
According to Ian McGarry, the Gunners have made contact with the Scottish Premiership champions about bringing the French striker to North London once the transfer window opens.
Arsenal have reportedly been told that they could pick up Edouard from anywhere between £22 million and £25 million.
Mikel Arteta looks like he’ll need a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette this summer amid speculation of the former Lyon marksman leaving the Emirates Stadium.
And former Arsenal star Kevin Campbell has backed the club’s reported pursuit of Edouard, claiming that he’d be an absolute snip if they get him for £25 million.
He told The Same Old Arsenal podcast: “Good player. He is a very good player. Very good with his back to goal, good ability and good link-up play – and he’s young. At £25 million, it’s nothing.”
It seems like the Hoops will have to cash in on the former Paris Saint-Germain youth this summer.
As good as he has been in recent years, there have been signs that he doesn’t want to be in Glasgow any longer and if Arteta comes knocking, he might just jump at the chance to join the Premier League outfit.
