Ashley Williams has claimed that Arsenal transfer target, Oleksandr Zinchenko, is ‘full of energy’.
The 25-year-old could be heading for the Manchester City exit door this summer, with Mikel Arteta keen to bring him to Arsenal.
Given that Zinchenko has won four Premier League titles at the Etihad and is playing Champions League football, it will be interesting if those at the Emirates can lure him away from his current surroundings.
Well, some rumours have suggested that the Ukraine international is ‘free to leave’ Man City, which surely opens the door for Arsenal.
Nonetheless, as Ukraine suffered World Cup heartache in Cardiff on Sunday, ex-Wales international, Williams, was full of praise for Zinchenko, as he told Sky Sports Football.
“He is full of energy,” said Williams. “I think it kind of suits him to use that energy (playing a midfield role for Ukraine) and showcase those fitness levels that he has got.
“Then to get beyond the defensive line and to drive his team forward. At Manchester City, they are full of stars and he plays that left-back role, and he plays it really well – he is a real livewire.”

ZINCHENKO’S VERSATILITY WOULD BE VERY VALUABLE TO ARSENAL
One problem Arsenal suffered as they missed out on Champions League football this season was a lack of depth in certain areas.
Arteta wasn’t helped by players getting sent off and him allowing players to leave in January without replacing them.
But, someone like Zinchenko can operate as a full-back, on the left side as he does for Man City.
Further up the field and as a wide attacker or, as the four-time Premier League title winner has done for his country, control the game from the middle of the park – all of which suits Arsenal down to the bone.
