Jed Steer has raved about Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold for his performance against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The former Aston Villa goalkeeper has said on Sky Sports News (4:01pm, September 3, 2023) that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s performance for Liverpool against the Villans was “a masterclass”.
Liverpool got the better of Villa 3-0 at home in the Premier League today.
Alexander-Arnold provided the assist for the first goal.

The 24-year-old England international started the match at right-back.
However, the £160,000-a-week (SalarySport) England international often moved into midfield and orchestrated proceedings in attack.
Praise for Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold vs Aston Villa
Alexander-Arnold provided some brilliant crossfield passing and was also defensively good.
The Englishman took two shots, played five key passes, had a pass accuracy of 90.8%, took 94 touches, made two interceptions, and put in two crosses.
Steer said about Alexander-Arnold: “What Trent put on today was a masterclass in passing and vision. His balls over the top for Salah and Darwin and Diaz were exceptional. He is looking really good in that number 6 role.”
Villa have been really good under former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery over the past few months.
So, to ease past Villa is something to be proud of.
True, the match was at Anfield and Liverpool were the favourites, but to win 3-0 against the Villans is not easy even for the best of teams.
