According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are unlikely to sell Xherdan Shaqiri in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that as things stand, Liverpool do not plan to cash in on the Switzerland international winger.
Sensible stance from Liverpool?
Shaqiri is essentially a squad player at the moment, and that is not going to change in the coming weeks and months.
According to WhoScored, the former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan winger has made just three substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played 121 minutes in the Champions League for the defending English champions so far this season.
It is clear that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp does not see the 29-year-old as good enough to start for his team on a regular basis.
However, it would make sense for the Reds to keep hold of the winger, as they are aiming to win the Premier League and the Champions League this season and will need a big and strong squad to achieve that quest.
Shaqiri is an experienced player who could play an important role in some games this season.
