Everton youngster Matthew Pennington returned to Merseyside after an impressive loan spell but the Englishman could well be on his way again.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at League One side Ipswich Town where he was hugely impressive playing as a centre-half and a right-back.
Pennington played 30 times in the Championship for the Tractor Boys but, despite his performances, his chances of regular game time at Everton are slim at best.
The Toffees have Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate all above Pennington in the pecking order. The Telegraph reported last month that Everton have opened talks with Chelsea over the permanent transfer of Kurt Zouma, who had a splendid loan spell at Goodison Park last campaign.
The signing of Zouma would further dent Pennington’s chances of first-team action at Everton next season and another loan move could be beneficial for him, especially in a different league. Trabzonspor are in dire need of a new defender and Pennington fits their bill very well for next season.

The Toffees already have Henry Onyekuru thriving in the Turkish top flight and Pennington could have a similar impact if a deal can be agreed. The 24-year-old has all the traits to be a top centre-half but he has lacked the composure at times to cement a place down for himself.
A good season away in Turkey would give Pennington the confidence he needs to come back to Everton next season and fight for a place in the first-team.
Everton will also not want to lose out on the 24-year-old permanently, which makes a loan move suitable for all parties involved.
