Sheffield United have been linked with a move for Britt Assombalonga in the summer but is he really the striker they should be looking at?

The Blades, against all odds, achieved automatic promotion to the Premier League on the final day of the season thanks to a 2-2 draw against Stoke City. Chris Wilder has worked miracles at Bramall Lane over the last few years and he now has to continue his good work on the biggest stage of English football.
Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick have carried the Blades this season with the duo scoring a combined 38 goals in the Championship. However, the latter will be out contract in the summer and United will need to bring in a striker irrespective of whether he stays or not.
The Blades have targeted Britt Assombalonga to potentially partner Billy Sharp up front but is he really the type of player that they should be looking at?
Assombalonga has had a very good season in terms of goals having scored 14 goals in 42 appearances for Boro in the Championship. However, the 26-year-old has often been a frustrating figure for the fans due to the number of chances that he has missed in front of goal this season.

The number of chances that a team like Sheffield United will get in the Premier League next season will be considerably less compared to the Championship and unlike in the lower league, the Blades will not be able to afford to miss those chances in the top-flight.
Chris Wilder should consider somebody with a decent record and experience in the Premier League over Britt Assombalonga in the summer.
