Burnley have made just two additions to their squad in this transfer window but Sean Dyche claims his side is well balanced ahead of the new season.

Sean Dyche was quoted by Lancs Live after his side’s 6-1 hammering of Ligue 1 side Nice in their penultimate pre-season game at Turf Moor.

A brilliant hat-trick from Chris Wood, along with goals from Jeff Hendrick, Johann Berg Gudmundsson and returning striker Jay Rodriguez, sealed a sensational victory for the Clarets as they continue their good run in pre-season.

Burnley have won four out of their six pre-season games so far and Dyche feels that his side are good enough even if they fail to sign more players.

The Burnley boss was asked about plans for incomings before the end of the transfer window to which he responded saying: “If we can find the quality at the right price then of course. There’s still a few irons in fires but it’s not an easy market. If nothing happened we’ve got a balanced looking squad. If it happens then we’ve done it for a reason.”

Burnley had a disastrous campaign last season where they found themselves destined for relegation at one point. Dyche managed to get his club out of a serious mess and helped them with a 15th-placed finish which seemed unrealistic at one point.

However, after successfully surviving last term, the Clarets should build on and aim to have a campaign as successful as the one they had in the season before last, where they finished seventh and qualified for the Europa League.

With Eric Pieters and Jay Rodriguez being the only two new additions, there is certainly room for improvement, but Dyche was quick to point out his side’s difficulty of this transfer window.

“It is whatever it looks like,” he said.

“We are not market leaders, we can’t just have that and that and get rid of them and them. It doesn’t work like that for us. There are certain things we can push on but there are no guarantees, that is the model of the club. We have predators looking at ours and equally we are looking at others.”
