Wolves were linked with a massive move for Monaco’s teenage defensive sensation Benoit Badiashile in the summer.

The 18-year-old rose to the spotlight last season where he played 26 times for Monaco in all competitions. Badiashile has continued to impress this term and has missed just two games so far. Monaco are stuck in 15th place in the league and the young defender, much like Kylian Mbappe, Fabinho, James Rodriguez and Youri Tielemans, could move on to achieve bigger things in the very near future.
Real Madrid are looking for a defender to emulate Raphael Varane and Badiashile certainly has the quality to do us under the right manager. With his contract expiring at the end of next season, Monaco will struggle to find a better opportunity to make good money off of him unless they manage to extend his contract which is unlikely considering their current form.
Badiashile was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last summer with Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly keen. (L’Equipe) The report claimed that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were willing to splash a whopping £35 million for the youngster but a move failed to materialise.

Wolves will face tough competition now to sign him with Real Madrid and possibly other big clubs coming in for the young French defender. Nuno Santo’s side haven’t quite been as good defensively as they were last season and a player of Badiashile’s quality could well help them regain their lost form.
With the January transfer window less than two months away, Wolves will make a massive statement if they can manage to sign Badiashile under Real Madrid’s nose and that could be the morale booster that Nuno Santo and his men need to turn their season around in the league as well as in Europe.
