Serie A side Fiorentina are reportedly interested in making a move for West Ham United’s Javier Hernandez this summer.

The report reveals that Fiorentina are prepared to keep the faith in their 24-year-old forward Giovanni Simeone and are looking for someone who could either play alongside him or in place of him next season.
Hernandez and Boca Juniors’ Dario Benedetto are among the shortlist for the role and the report states that the duo were considered in the past as well but deals failed to materialize.
The Sun reported early last month that La Liga side Valencia were keen on signing the Mexican in a deal worth £8 million. The report said the Hammers would allow the 31-year-old to leave the Olympic Stadium for the right price but, a little over a month down the line, a deal could become a bit complicated.
Star forward Marko Arnautovic completed his move to Chinese side Shanghai SIPG for £22.4 million (the Telegraph) and this could play a huge part in West Ham’s decision to allow Hernandez to leave the club this summer.

However, with just one year left on his current deal, this summer’s transfer window will potentially be the last chance for the Irons to make any money on the Mexican before he will be able to speak to other clubs in January.
West Ham could still extend his deal to prevent that but, at 31, that is highly unlikely.
Fiorentina could be a very good option for the Mexican to spend the final few years of his career in a top league and, after a terrible season which saw them finish 16th, Montella could certainly use a player of Hernandez’s calibre up front next campaign.
