La Liga giants Atletico are on the lookout for a replacement to Antoine Griezmann in the summer.

Atleti’s star forward Antoine Griezmann recently announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season which has prompted the former La Liga champions to look for his replacement. Griezmann’s compatriot Alexandre Lacazette is among the shortlist for the role and the report reveals that Atleti have already contacted the Gunners over a move in the coming weeks.
Lacazette has been in fine form for Arsenal this season having scored 19 goals and provided a further 13 assists in all competitions so far. His partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been a joy to watch for Gunners fans this season and the pair have directly contributed to a stunning 71 goals this term.
Lacazette has been an integral part of Unai Emery’s side and losing him would be a humungous blow. However, the Frenchman is tied up to a deal which keeps him at the Emirates till the summer of 2022 and The Mail report that the Gunners are planning to extend his stay beyond that.

The Frenchman, despite scoring fewer goals than Aubameyang, has arguably been a lot more important for Arsenal thanks to his all-round game. His willingness to drop back to help his side in the build-up play combined with his ability to create chances for his teammates is of immense value to the Gunners and they should at no cost let him leave in the summer.
