Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Gremio’s Everton Soares in recent weeks and, if reports are to be believed, a deal could be completed soon.

The 23-year-old is due to play Bahia in the quarter-final of the Brazilian Cup in the coming days, but the report reveals Soares’ is unsure if he will be available for the all-important game.
The young winger was quoted saying: “I have a proposal. I cannot talk to the club. I do not guarantee that I will play against Bahia on Wednesday, we will see.”
Arsenal have been credited with the above-mentioned proposal and, if the report about the medical this week is to be believed, a deal between the Gunners and Gremio could be close to completion. Newly appointed technical director Edu Gaspar could have had a major role in the potential transfer having spent time with Soares in Brazil’s Copa America triumph.
Soares excelled in the tournament and got himself on the score sheet as Brazil beat Peru 3-1. The youngster’s performances have allegedly caught Unai Emery’s attention and, if the deal does happen, he would be a fine signing for Arsenal.

The Gunners lack an out-and-out wide player and Emery has been forced to use the likes of Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the flanks. The signing of Soares would solve a key problem for the Gunners and give the Arsenal boss the freedom to tweak his formation.
A front three of Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Everton, with someone like Ozil feeding them from a number 10 position, would massively boost Arsenal’s firepower next season and Emery should have no second thoughts over signing the exciting Brazilian in the coming days.
