Norwich City will need to strengthen their squad to have any chance of surviving the Premier League and Dwight Gayle could prove to be a fantastic signing.

After an incredible season in the Championship which saw Norwich City clinch the title, Daniel Farke has a daunting Premier League campaign to look forward to.

Norwich already have a brilliant squad but there is still room for improvement in the summer transfer window.

Teemu Pukki’s brilliance has carried them to the Premier League but the Canaries have been over-reliant on his end product for most parts of the season.

An injury or suspension to the Fin will be a huge blow for the Canaries, which might potentially cost them a place in the Premier League at the end of next season. Daniel Farke needs to address this issue and a striker has to be a massive priority in this transfer window.

Newcastle United’s Dwight Gayle would be a brilliant addition considering the season he has had for West Brom. The 28-year-old scored an impressive 24 goals and provided eight more assists in all competitions and the Baggies were expected to keep hold of him beyond the end of his loan spell.

However, his wages were allegedly deemed to be an issue and Gayle has returned to Newcastle where the chances of regular game time are slim at best.

Norwich should take full advantage of this situation by making a move for him in the next two months. Gayle would be a brilliant backup to Pukki up front, while his versatility of playing on the flanks would open up a ton of options for Farke next season.

Gayle’s pace up front, combined with the likes of Stiepermann and Buendia, has the potential to cause serious damage to any team in the Premier League and Norwich should seriously consider a move for him while they can.
