Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez’s future is still in the air and the Magpies now reportedly have some competition for the Spaniard’s signature.

The list includes a number of big names in world football including the likes of Claude Puel, Laurent Blanc and Leonardo Jardim, but arguably the biggest name on the list is Newcastle United’s Rafa Benitez.
The Spaniard’s contract with the Magpies will expire in the coming days and he is yet to commit his future with the club.
The report reveals that representatives from Marseille have explored the option of appointing him before the start of next season and his proven track record across Europe would make him an incredible addition for the Olympians.
Benitez has done remarkably well with the Magpies since taking charge of the club in 2016. The Spaniard helped the club back into the Premier League and has been instrumental in keeping them there for the second year in a row.

Benitez has allegedly made it clear to Newcastle’s owner Mike Ashley that he will not sign a new deal unless there is sufficient backing from the board in the summer transfer window.
Losing the former Liverpool boss would be a monumental blow for the Magpies but their loss could turn out to be Marseille’s gain.
