Adama Traore changed the game for Wolves last night after he came on in an unconventional role.

Wolves did well to pull off a 1-1- draw against Manchester United at the Molineaux last night but one player deserves a special mention. Adama Traore has always been a menace to defences but his inconsistency has cost him over the last few years.
Usually a right winger, Traore was given a much deeper role on Monday as he a replaced an injured Matt Doherty at the break.
Doherty has been one of Wolves’ most important players since the start of last season but Nuno Espirito Santo might have found a solid alternative when they are chasing games.
The Spaniard has been used in that position in pre-season and in the Europa League games so far this campaign and he should have got the hang of it by now. Traore is by no means a better player off the ball when compared to Doherty but, when the side are a goal or two down, it is a risk well worth taking.
The former Boro man, on his day, is almost impossible to stop and, with the likes of Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez waiting for good balls inside the box, Traore’s crosses could well help Wolves come back in a number of games this season as they did against United.

Games will come thick and fast if Wolves manage to reach the Europa League group stages and fatigue will kick in among players as the campaign goes along. Santo cannot afford to use the same starting XI on a consistent basis like last season.
Traore will provide a number of options thanks to his versatility but, after last night, he may have found his best position at right wing-back.
