Gerard Deulofeu produced one of his best performances in a Watford shirt against Arsenal on Sunday.

Former Barcelona and Everton attacker Gerard Deulofeu was on top of his game as Watford brilliantly came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Arsenal.
As bad as the Gunners were in the second half, Deulofeu stepped up and on another day could’ve scored a couple of goals himself. The Spaniard started on the left flank but was given a fairly free role to drift across the field whenever required.
However, his most dangerous attacks came from the left-wing as he caused all sorts of problems to Ainsley Maitland-Niles who struggled to keep up with him from the very first minute. Deulofeu finished the game with an assist to Tom Cleverly’s goal but statistics show he did more than just that on Sunday.
The Spanish international had a staggering 93 touches in the game which shows how involved he was throughout the 90 minutes. He completed 85% of his passes, eight of which were key passes which resulted in the creation of one big chance. Deulofeu completed seven out of an attempted nine dribbles and successfully won nine duels. (SofaScore)

He had four shots on target of which two deserved to go in but Bernd Leno’s brilliance kept Arsenal in the game. Deulofeu was undoubtedly Watford’s man of the match and despite not being able to get on the score sheet, he gave Quique Sanchez Flores a clear idea of where his best position is.
Under Javi Gracia last season, Deulofeu played 30 times in the Premier League. The Spaniard was as a second striker to Troy Deeney in 27 of those games with the remaining three coming off of the right-wing. Flores was right to deploy his compatriot and if that game was evidence to what he capable of, the new Watford boss has no reason to change his position for the considerable future.
