Arsenal are set to face surprise competition in the form of Everton to sign Barcelona’s Brazilian winger Malcom in the coming days.

The report reveals that the Toffees are preparing an offer that would exceed £31.3 million which would be a sensational bit of business if they can cross the hurdle.
However, fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal are also on the Brazilian’s chase having allegedly been in contact with his representatives.
Unai Emery’s side are in desperate need of a winger after massively struggling due to the lack of natural wide players in their squad last season.
Alex Iwobi was Arsenal’s only recognized winger in the last campaign and Arsenal simply cannot afford to go into the new season without the addition of a wide man.
Sky Sports linked the Gunners with a move for Malcom back in January last year but a move failed to materialise. The Brazilian has had a torrid time since making the switch from Bordeaux to Barcelona, where he started just six times in the Spanish top flight.

Barcelona’s plethora of options out wide includes the likes of Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, which has pushed the Brazilian down the pecking order.
However, a move to Arsenal where the need for a winger is massive would be ideal for Malcom to continue his development and he should pounce at the opportunity of moving to North London.
Arsenal losing out on Malcom to a club like Everton would further highlight the lack of ambition at the Gunners in terms of recruitment.
Head of football Raul Sanllehi should use all his previous connections with the Catalans to secure a move for Malcom ahead of the Toffees and this could potentially change the Gunners’ fortunes as they head into their second season under Emery.
