Three free agents Sheffield United should target to stay in the Premier League next season.

Chris Wilder the head

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United have miraculously made it into the Premier League but to survive there is a whole new challenge.

The Blades will need to strengthen their squad if they want to have any chance of surviving in the English top flight next season.

Here are three free agents who could come in and save Chris Wilder’s side next season.

Yohan Cabaye:

The former Newcastle United and Crystal Palace star has been a free agent since leaving Al-Nasr in January and he would be an unbelievable signing for the Blades in the summer.

Yohan Cabaye (7) of Crystal Palace arrives for the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion at Selhurst Park on May 13, 2018 in London, England.

Cabaye’s quality on the ball is unquestionable and the Frenchman would bring in immense experience to Sheffield United’s midfield next season.

The Frenchman is hugely versatile and will fit in anywhere across the central midfield which will be a massive bonus for the blades next season.

Danny Welbeck:

Welbeck will be out of contract in the summer and Sheffield will have a real star on their hands if they manage to sign the Englishman.

With David McGoldrick’s contract expiring at the end of the season, the Blades will need to bring in a striker to partner their skipper Billy Sharp and Welbeck would be an incredible addition.

Danny Welbeck of Arsenal gives a thumbs up during the UEFA Europa League Group E match between Arsenal and Sporting CP at Emirates Stadium on November 8, 2018 in London, United Kingdom.

The 28-year-old will surely bring in goals and his physical presence will compliment Sharp perfectly in the summer. His wages might prove to be a huge problem but Chris Wilder has performed enough miracles already with the Blades to doubt him.

Johan Djourou:

The former Arsenal man has been without a club since leaving SPAL in January and he could do a fine job for the Blades next season.

Johan Djourou of Spal during the Serie A TIM match between SSC Napoli and Spal at Stadio San Paolo Naples Italy on 22 December 2018.

Martin Cranie is set to leave the club at the end of the season and Sheffield will need an experienced replacement to fill his shoes in the summer.

Djourou will bring in bags of experience and quality to the Blades and even if he isn’t a regular starter, he will have a tremendous impact on the youngsters at the club.
