Three midfielders Everton should consider if they miss out on Andre Gomes in the summer.

Gomes has had an impressive season at Goodison Park since his arrival from Barcelona in the summer. However, the 25-year-old is not irreplaceable and here are three players who Everton should consider if they miss out on Andre Gomes in the summer.
Giovani Lo Celso
The Toffees have been linked with a move for Lo Celso recently and he would be an incredible addition to their squad in the summer.
The Argentine was initially on loan at Real Betis from PSG but the Spanish side triggered an option to sign him permanently.

However, Betis would be willing to sell their star for a higher fee and Everton should swoop in for him in the summer. The 23-year-old has scored 16 goals in all competitions from central midfield and would be a perfect fit at Goodison Park next season.
Joao Mario
Another player on Everton’s radar according to reports, Mario had an unsuccessful spell at West Ham last season but the Portuguese international could be a gamble that would pay off.

Mario’s ability to play both as a number 10 as well as a box-to-box midfielder makes him a very good player to have in a squad and he has enough quality to make an impact with the Toffees next season.
Mario’s vision is fantastic and with willing runners in front of like Bernard and Richarlison, he could really thrive next season.
Christopher Nkunku
Not as experienced as Andre Gomes but Nkunku has all the qualities in the world to be a top midfielder in the coming years. The 21-year-old has started just 13 games for PSG this season and has directly contributed to five goals.
Nkunku’s contract with the French champions expires at the end of next season which could potentially make him available in a cut-price deal. Everton will have a real gem on their hands if they manage to sign Nkunku in the upcoming summer transfer window.
