With some high-profile senior players away on international duty, new West Ham United manager David Moyes has given several of the club’s talented youngsters chances to train with the first-team this week.

Moyes remarked that he has been impressed by the impact that some of the starlets have made, indicating that he could be prepared to give some of them first-team game time as he looks to improve the club’s fortunes.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Moyes said: “They’ve trained with us every day since I’ve been here because the numbers are down and we wanted to train with decent size numbers. The U23s have come up to Rush Green to train with us and I hope that’s the way it will stay.

“I’ve been told about one or two and a couple of others have caught my eye. Really those young boys need to be given opportunities.”

Here are six West Ham youngsters that could get a chance under Moyes.

A senior Montenegro international, Haksabanovic can also feature as a central midfielder or on the right wing and his versatility makes him a useful asset.

Conor Coventry

One of the players that Moyes could be referring to is midfielder Coventry, with the 17-year-old having produced some encouraging performances for West Ham at U23 level since breaking into the side.

Effective at breaking up play, the Irish youngster is also impressive at distributing the ball.

Domingos Quina

A former Chelsea youngster, Quina was often involved with the first-team squad as a substitute last season but must battle to get back closer to the senior set-up.

There have been suggestions the 17-year-old could be loaned out but it may well be the case that he will be given an opportunity at West Ham under Moyes.

Toni Martinez

Prolific at U23 level, Martinez has scored eight goals in nine Premier League 2 appearances for West Ham this campaign.

With the club needing an injection of quality up front, Martinez could well be the player to provide it.

Martin Samuelsen

Ben Clappison of Hull tackles Martin Samuelsen of West Ham during the Second Leg of the Premier League U21 Cup Final at the KC Stadium on May 04, 2016 in Hull, England.

The attacking midfielder has long been tipped to make the breakthrough at West Ham and has had loan spells at Blackburn Rovers and Peterborough United.

Now 20, Samuelsen is approaching an important stage in his development and will aim to impress Moyes in training and seize any opportunity he is afforded.

Dan Kemp

Another player who was previously with Chelsea, Kemp is capable of playing as a winger or a central midfielder and is a fine dribbler.

Excellent at linking up play, the prospect isn’t the strongest physically but is very hardworking and has vast potential.
