A new look Leeds United’s under-23 side played a friendly match against non-league Tadcaster Albion last night.
It was a first match in the dugout for new coach Carlos Corberan, who joined last week after managing Cypriot top flight side Ermis Aradippou last season.
Four trialists were named in Leeds United’s starting line-up, while Romario Vieira, twin brother of first team ace Ronaldo Vieira also featured.
Two trialists were named on the bench, along with new additions Alejandro Machuca and Adrian Balboa.
After going behind to a goal from ex-Whites youngster Piteu Crouz, Leeds drew level with a goal from substitute Jamie Shackleton.
Last summer’s deadline day addition Amadou Haidara also featured, with Tadcaster Albion’s Twitter feed acknowledging his bruising physique.
The game finished in a 1-1 draw, with Tadcaster Albion’s social media team praising the talent in the Leeds ranks.
Leeds’ under-23 team struggled badly last season, finishing bottom of their division. Coach Jason Blunt has moved on, and there is investment afoot from the club’s new owner Andrea Radrizzani to bring in talented young players to replenish the ranks.
In addition to the six trialists on show and Balboa and Machuca, under-23 players Madger Gomes and Conor Shaughnessy will be available in the future, having been on tour with the Leeds first team.
