Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Patson Daka is taking those comparisons with Erling Braut Haaland in his stride after another match-winning display for Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday, speaking to FIFA.com.

The 21-year-old goal-machine might be the ‘next Thierry Henry’ in the eyes of one of his former coaches, but the Arsenal legend is not the only lethal finisher Daka is being compared to back home in Austria.

Dortmund talisman Haaland already looks like a generation-defining number nine at the age of just 20 and, after taking his place in Salzburg’s attack, it seems only a matter of time before Daka is following in his former teammate’s fearsome footsteps.

Far Post claimed in August that Liverpool and Arsenal are keeping tabs on the Zambian wonder-kid.

Tottenham Hotspur had also shown an interest before opting for the more experienced Carlos Vinicius (Football London).

Daka added to his burgeoning reputation with two goals in Salzburg’s 3-1 victory over Maccabi Tel-Aviv on Wednesday.

But, despite firing his side into the Champions League, one of the hottest forwards in Europe is not getting ahead of himself just yet.

“Comparisons are part and parcel of the game, so I’m used to it,” said Daka, who scored 27 goals last season and has nine in six games already this.

“Haaland’s a great player but he’s also a friend of mine and we’ve kept in touch since he left for Dortmund.”

With Jurgen Klopp making it clear that he does not expect any more new signings at Liverpool, and Arsenal fully focused on signing a midfield destroyer rather than a prolific number nine, Daka looks set to spend another year honing his talent at Salzburg.

He is already valued at £20 million.

But, if Daka can continue his remarkable goal-scoring exploits, expect to see his price-tag double or triple in the space of ten months.
