There is great anticipation among the Liverpool fans about the defender, who are hoping that he can improve what is a problem area in the team.

And as the stats provided by Opta show, he was solid if uninspiring in several areas but did enough to encourage Reds fans about his future in the team.

His passing was also secure, managing 29 accurate passes in total and an overall passing accuracy of 78% in a solid if uninspiring Premier League debut.
