Moussa Sissoko has stated on his Instagram story that he will be friends with his former Tottenham teammate, Christian Eriksen, ‘forever’ and support him in his current journey.

The duo spent a number of years together at Spurs and experienced a number of highs and lows.

The biggest wave was perhaps reaching the Champions League final, including that stunning win against Ajax in the semi-final and that Lucas Moura hat-trick.

And whilst playing the final in Madrid would have been memorable, the day in itself was a game to forget for those in Spurs colours because of the end result.

Since then, Sissoko has moved on to Watford and Eriksen is a free agent after his health scare during Euro 2020.

Sissoko was asked on his IG story ‘are you supporting Eriksen in his journey?’ by a supporter and he issued this response that Spurs fans will just love.

“Of course,” said Sissoko. “If you are friends with someone, it’s forever.”

Given Tottenham’s creative problems and the fact that Eriksen is a free agent, some have questioned whether the player should return to north London.

The 29-year-old mutually terminated his Inter contract because rules in Italy state that anyone with a defibrillator, which Eriksen has, can’t play contact sport.

But, he could join another country that has different rules and could a return to England be on the cards?

It was Antonio Conte who brought him to Inter and thrived with him in Serie A by becoming champions.

Not forgetting that he played his best football in the Premier League, so it might just happen and it’s one to look out for.
