The trio all impressed as Spurs beat Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in Wednesday night’s Champions League last-16 first leg.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has singled out Son Heung-min and Jan Vertonghen for their performances in Wednesday night’s Champions League last-16 first leg 3-0 win against Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga leaders came to Wembley Stadium and, ahead of kickoff, it looked like it was going to be a tough night – and at least until the half-time whistle it was, with the game on a knife edge with no goals scored by either side.
However, Spurs stepped it up a gear after the restart, with Vertonghen – deployed at left wing-back in the absence of Ben Davies and Danny Rose – crossing for Son to sidefoot home on the volley just two minutes in.
The Belgian defender then weighed in with a goal of his own in the 83rd minute as he slid in to bury Serge Aurier’s delivery, before Fernando Llorente wrapped up the stunning win six minutes later with a header from Christian Eriksen’s corner.

“We know Sonny is a really important player for us,” Moussa told the official Tottenham website. “In the last few months, he has done really well and has scored in nearly every game, so we are really happy to have him with us.
“Jan also had an unbelievable performance – a nice cross [for Son’s opener] and then a good goal for himself. I think we can all be proud of our performance because we showed character and showed that we wanted to win.”
Sissoko, meanwhile, had an impressive game of his own, putting in yet another performance that makes his £30million arrival (BBC Sport) seem increasingly value for money, being given a rating of 8 by Football.London and getting a standing ovation when he was substituted.
