Moussa Sissoko has told Stadium Astro that Tanguy Ndombele has come back ‘stronger’ for Tottenham this season.
After the turn of the year, Ndombele’s career at Spurs hit a brick wall and one that not many thought he would get back up from.
But Tottenham’s record signing has looked like a different animal during this campaign and he has been a key reason as to why they moved to the top of the table last week.
Whilst Ndombele found life tough in North London initially, his fellow countryman and close friend, Sissoko would have also felt the pain, but he made it clear that he is someone with ‘a lot of quality’.
“Tanguy had some problems like everybody can have some problems with the club,” said Sissoko. “He came to England, so it was a new country for him and he doesn’t speak any English.
“He was alone. He is young and a lot of things were changing for him. Sometimes you need time to assimilate everything and Tanguy needed that time.
“This year, he came back more stronger and his English was much better. Even what he was doing and showing on the pitch was better. That’s why he’s doing well, at the moment.
“Now, I think he is very happy with everything that is happening for him. Hopefully, he will keep going on in that direction because he’s a young player with a lot of quality and he can help us to achieve a lot of things.”

It wasn’t a question of quality from Ndombele, but just a player lacking the sharpness and fitness levels to compete at the highest level.
But, with the highly-demanding Jose Mourinho breathing down his neck, he has been one of his success stories in recent months and that’s a slap in the face to the critics who feel the Portuguese’s forthright style is now outdated.
Even a certain Dele Alli, who was walking down the same path as Ndombele, produced his best performance in a very long while in midweek and it seems he is another player who has reacted well to Mourinho’s criticism.
