Moussa Sissoko has heaped praise on his Tottenham teammate Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and claimed that he has shown ‘all of his quality’ ever since his ‘first game’ for the club, as he told Football London.
Spurs signed the combative midfielder over the summer from Southampton and it was a signing that left many underwhelmed.
But in this Jose Mourinho system, Hojbjerg is thriving and those critics who questioned his signing are now watching him do bits in the middle of the park.
The Denmark international has played alongside Sissoko in that midfield and the Frenchman had some classy words to say about his midfield partner.
“We are very pleased to have Pierre in this team,” said Sissoko. “I think since he came, since his first game, he’s shown all of his quality. He brings a lot of energy to the team.
“He’s a great midfield player. Of course, he’s young, but he also has some experience because he’s been playing in a few teams before. Hopefully, he’s going to keep going in that way and keep bringing all of his energy and his ability on the pitch, even with the ball he’s a good footballer.

“I think he’s a good addition to the squad and he’s shown it since he came and I hope he will keep going in that way.”
“To play with him, of course, is nice. Every player will play with him, like when Winksy played a few games with him he was very happy to play with him. That’s good.”

The great thing about Hojbjerg is that he is still growing as a footballer and he can become a box-to-box midfield player if his games continue to go to the next level.
He is comfortable in possession, he has an aggressive nature to his game in regards to winning those midfield duels, he has shown the ability to play that progressive pass, it’s now a case of adding goals to his game.
If the Dane can do that then he can start to become a key member of the starting XI and potentially push Sissoko out of the starting XI.
Either way, Hojbjerg is receiving some much deserved praise for his performances this season.
