Moussa Sissoko struggled to make an impact at Tottenham Hotspur last season, but the France international midfielder seems to have established himself as an important figure in the team this season.

The former Newcastle United midfielder was able to start just eight times in the Premier League for Spurs last season, but he has already made three starts in the league this campaign.

The injury to Victor Wanyama has certainly contributed to Sissoko starting games in recent weeks, and the Frenchman has not done exactly badly.

The performance of the £30 million signing from Newcastle (as reported by BBC Sport in the summer of 2016) has been mixed, coincided with Spurs’ mixed start to the 2017-18 Premier League campaign.

It is not guaranteed that Sissoko will start against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon, but if he does, then the Frenchman should make the most of it.

Mauricio Pochettino, manager of Spurs looks on prior to the Pre-Season Friendly match beween Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus at Wembley Stadium on August 5, 2017 in London, England.

The Hammers have come into form and will also have home advantage, and Sissoko will have to be on top of his game.

The 28-year-old needs to make the most of the chance against West Ham if he gets one, and do the job he is instructed by manager Mauricio Pochettino to do.

Once Wanyama regains full fitness, then Sissoko will find it hard to retain his place in the Spurs starting lineup, but he could send a strong message to Pochettino with a good performance against the Hammers.
