West Ham United signed the 26-year-old on a free transfer this summer.

West Ham legend Sir Trevor Brooking spoke exclusively to Sky Sports News today, and shared how he is really excited at the prospect of watching Jack Wilshere in a Hammers shirt this season.
New West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has spent big this summer, bringing in a whole host of new names, but the signing of Wilshere on a free transfer has arguably been his most impressive piece of business thus far.
The 26-year-old had spent his entire career with Arsenal, before joining the Hammers this summer, and many are expecting great things from the boyhood West Ham fan.
West Ham really should be looking to kick on and push for a top eight finish this season, and if Wilshere remains fit they have every chance of doing just that.
Brooking, who made 528 league appearances for the east London outfit, shared how the signing of the former Gunners ace has really got him excited, as quoted by Sky Sports News:

“The player I’m quite excited about is Jack (Wilshere). He’s a talented player, a creative midfielder – West Ham need someone like that to see a pass. At 26 – for me the next 5 or 6 years were my best – you’ve got your confidence in your ability. And if I was him I’d want to prove to everyone that he can be as good as we know he can be and so for me his presence, if he plays well will be a big plus.”
The Hammers’ Premier League campaign kicks off in earnest next month, and West Ham fans will be hoping that Wilshere can help his side get off to a great start with all three points away against Liverpool on August 12th.
