West Ham have only managed ten goals so far this season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, West Ham legend Sir Trevor Brooking says he is glad they have their strikers back as the side needs a cutting edge.
The Hammers frontline has been beset by injuries this season, with Andre Ayew, Diafra Sakho, Andy Carroll and Jonathan Calleri all out injured in stages.
That has left the goalscoring burden on Simone Zaza but so far the Italian has failed to carry it well, going his first ten games in the league without a goal.
West Ham United’s Andre Ayew misses a chance to score
Ayew and Sakho are now back and will be eager to compete for places in the coming weeks and Brooking says that is definitely a good thing.
“It will be interesting to see what team Slaven picks. I thought Michail Antonio did particularly well up front against Chelsea,” he told the club’s official website.
“It’s also good to see that Diafra Sakho is coming back because I still think he was the best striker at the club when he was playing well.
“Andre Ayew is also back which is good and it’s just a case with him to see where he fits best in the team. We’re certainly playing better defensively but we just need that cutting edge up front.”

Slaven Bilic will certainly be hoping that his strikers can come in and find their goalscoring touch, with the Hammers in desperate need of goals.
Creating chances has not been the problem, with the Hammers having registered the sixth-highest number of shots in the league so far.
Getting them on target is the issue, with his side registering the fifth lowest amount of shots on target and the joint lowest shooting accuracy.
That has seen them score just ten times so far, the fourth lowest tally in the division, and fixing the issue should be a sure fire way to help them rise from their current position of 17th.
