Sir Kenny Dalglish has suggested in The Sunday Post that Celtic will win the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 54 points from 24 matches, six points above second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers.

Aberdeen are also in the race for the title, as they are currently third in the standings with 46 points from 24 games.

Rangers have been superb under manager Steven Gerrard this season, and the Gers are giving Celtic a run for their money in the league.

Celtic legend Dalglish has reiterated his belief that Brendan Rodgers’s side are favourites for the league title this campaign.

The former Scotland international forward has said that the new contract handed to star midfielder Scott Brown has strengthened his belief.

As announced on Celtic’s official website on January transfer deadline day, Brown has signed a new two-year contract extension with the Glasgow giants.

This means that the former Scotland international midfielder will stay at the Glasgow giants until 2021.

Dalglish wrote in The Sunday Post: “I’ve always said Brendan Rodgers and his players are the favourites to win the Premiership this season, and I stand by that. The re-signing of Brown only strengthens the way I feel about my prediction.”
