Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson was released by Celtic when he was a teenager.

The Celtic and Liverpool legend has praised Robertson for the way he recovered after he was released by the Hoops when he was a teenager.
The 24-year-old defender subsequently moved to Queen’s Park before joining Dundee United.
The left-back earned a move to Hull City in 2014, and in the summer of 2017 Liverpool snapped him up.
Robertson, who recently signed a new contract with Liverpool, is now one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and is a regular for Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Dalglish wrote about Robertson in The Sunday Post: “For Andy to be where he was just seven years ago – when he was let go by Celtic – to where he is now, is a classic example to any young footballer that you should never give up and never stop believing.
“Indeed, to young players up and down the UK who are freed every year by the big clubs, Andy is a role model.
“He has displayed just what can be achieved by hard work, perseverance and dedication.”

Robertson has made 21 appearances in the Premier League for and has played six times in the Champions League for Liverpool so far this season, according to WhoScored.
The Scotland internationa left-back has improved massively over the years, and his success and accolade is down to him and to his determination to succeed despite the early setback at Celtic.
