Celtic legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has suggested in The Sunday Post that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has to control his petulance.

The former Celtic and Liverpool forward has warned Morelos against making himself a complete liability for Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers.

Dalglish made the comments following Morelos’s dismissal against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership game last week.

The 22-year-old Colombia international forward was shown a straight red card in the 57th minute of the encounter in which he scored twice and which the Gers won 4-2.

Dalglish wrote in The Sunday Post: “Morelos scored two great goals at Pittodrie, but made the headlines for all the wrong reasons yet again.

“The referee was right to give the same punishment to both players, whether that was yellow, red or just a talking to.

“Morelos has plenty of talent but he has to control his petulance. He can’t allow himself to become a complete liability. The Colombian needs to show more maturity and self-control.”

Improvement needed

Morelos is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is a key figure in the Rangers team.

According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old has made 22 starts and one substitute appearance in the league for the Gers so far this season, scoring 15 goals in the process.

The Colombian striker does need to work on his temperament and has to keep his cool on the pitch.

After all, Rangers need Morelos in their quest to win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
