The former Celtic and Liverpool forward believes that Rangers star Morelos has a problem with keeping his feelings to himself, and has suggested that the Ibrox striker needs to quieten down a bit.
Dalglish made the comments in the wake of Morelos being shown a yellow card in Rangers’ Scottish League Cup quarter-final tie against Ayr United at Ibrox last week.
The caution means that 22-year-old Colombia international striker – who has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2017 when he moved to the Gers from Finnish team HJK Helsinki for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £1.5 million – will miss the Ibrox club’s last-four tie.
Dalglish wrote in The Sunday Post about Morelos: “Morelos has been in trouble a few times this season, and he clearly has a problem with keeping his feelings to himself. He is very reactive to decisions made by officials.
“It seems that he feeds off that kind of thing, and it is part of his all-round package. But he will need to quieten down a wee bit, that’s for sure.”
Need to check himself
Morelos is a very promising and talented young striker, and it is clear that the Colombian is an important player for Rangers.
It is also obvious that the 22-year-old needs to be more calm on the pitch and not get silly yellow cards.
After all, the striker getting suspended for matches is not helpful for Rangers in their quest to win the Scottish Premiership and make an impact in the Europa League.
