Celtic legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has suggested in The Sunday Post that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is progressing in terms of his temperament.

The former Celtic and Liverpool forward was impressed with Morelos not reacting during Rangers’ goalless draw with Hibernian away from home in the Scottish Premiership last Wednesday evening.

Dalglish has also suggested that the 22-year-old Colombia international striker should keep his calm during the Old Firm derby between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox this coming Saturday.

“What I liked about him from the game against Hibs was that Ryan Porteous was trying to wind him up and Morelos didn’t take the bait and didn’t seem irritated,” Dalglish wrote about Morelos in The Sunday Post.

“That’s a sign of progress. He will need to be the same in the Old Firm game because it is very easy for players to get caught up in the atmosphere and the occasion.”

Important player

Morelos has issues with temperament and has been shown more red cards so far this season than he would have wanted.

The striker, though, is one of the best in his position in the Scottish Premiership, and scored both goals in Steven Gerrard’s side’s 2-1 win against St. Johnstone away from home in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

Celtic are in brilliant form at the moment, and Morelos will have to on top of his game for Rangers to get the better of the Hoops next weekend.
