West Ham legend has his say on the club’s season.

West Ham are working to improve after a tough start to the season in which they have lost their opening two games.
The Hammers invested a huge amount on transfers to sign players in the summer and are hoping to soon see it pay off.
Their luckless start combined with some tough upcoming fixtures has dampened expectations about the season ahead, with patience required.
West Ham and England legend Sir Geoff Hurst has had his say on where the club should be aiming to finish this season, and is trying to stay realistic.
Hurst told Goal.com: “What we are looking for this year is a gradual improvement, bearing in mind were in the bottom three last year for a long time.

“So improvement for us is, and I am being conservative, is to be in mid-table and out of trouble, not looking over our shoulder and then we can aspire to get towards that top six.
“With the enormous amount of money that the big clubs are spending, we are not there yet, but if we can get close then everyone will be quite happy with that. For me, that would be a big step after what was a disappointing year last year.”
West Ham’s next match is against Arsenal at The Emirates, another club who have had a winless start.
After that their Premier League fixtures do not get much easier in September, with games against Wolves, Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United, and only a EFL Cup game with AFC Wimbledon providing brief respite.
West Ham will have done well to pull away from the relegation mix by the end of September, but if they have not, there is still plenty of time for the team to kick on, providing the board do not panic over manager Manuel Pellegrini.
