Scott Sinclair has told Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers that he does not want to be rested on Wednesday for his side’s League Cup tie against Alloa, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times.

Sinclair has been an instant hit at Celtic after his summer switch from Aston Villa, and has played a key role in the Hoops impressive start to their Scottish Premiership campaign.

Speaking after yesterday’s 2-2 draw at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, the 27-year-old forward explained how he is raring to go for the Hoops’ cup tie, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times:

“To be honest, I think the manager knows me – I want to play every minute of every game. It’s up to him. He will decide, he will pick the team. If I’m rested, I’m rested but I’m sure I’ll feel fresh after the weekend. Every minute of every game I want to play.”

The former Swansea City and Chelsea man has scored five goals in five league outings for the Glasgow giants, and he is already beginning to repay the fee invested in him by the club.

Following the Hoops’ cup tie against Alloa, they have a home league game against Kilmarnock followed by their crucial Champions League game against Manchester City at Celtic Park, where a win really is needed if they are to have any chance of qualification.

The game against Scottish League One side Alloa will provide a perfect opportunity for Rodgers to rest some of his most important players ahead of a vitally important week, but whether Sinclair is one of them remains to be seen.
