Trevor Sinclair suggested on talkSPORT (9:23am, January 8, 2021) that he does not think that West Ham United will sign Odsonne Edouard from Celtic in January transfer window.

West Ham are on the hunt for a new striker following the departure of Sebastien Haller to Ajax for a transfer fee reported by The Independent to be worth £20 million.

According to Eurosport, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is on the radar of the Hammers, and so are Adam Hlozek of Sparta Prague, Reims forward Boulaye Dia and Bournemouth’s Josh King.

Former West Ham winger Sinclair, who likes Celtic, does not think that Edouard will make the switch from the Hoops to the Hammers.

Sinclair made the comments while responding to Scotland international forward Alan Brazil – who now works as a presenter on talkSPORT and stated in The Sunday Post in July 2017 that he is a red-hot Celtic fan – when he asked about Edouard potentially moving to West Ham.

Brazil asked Sinclair on talkSPORT (9:23am, January 8, 2021): “Would David (Moyes) maybe be looking at Edouard at Celtic?”

Sinclair responded: “I am not so sure.”

Unlikely Celtic exit

Edouard is Celtic’s best striker, and it is hard to see the Glasgow giants sell the Frenchman in the middle of the season.

Perhaps the Hoops could be receptive to bids for the 22-year-old in the summer of 2021, but it is very unlikely that they will sell him in the January transfer window.
