Neil Taylor heaped praise on reported Arsenal target, Aaron Ramsey, after he helped Wales record a valuable 2-0 win over Turkey at Euro 2020.

The Aston Villa player claimed his fellow countryman’s performance on Wednesday proved ‘why he is a Juventus player’, as he told BBC One.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato have claimed that Arsenal technical director, Edu, is in talks about possibly bringing Ramsey back to the club this summer.

Well, performances such as the one yesterday will only increase the chances of the interested parties putting in a bid for the £17 million-rated player.

But Taylor, who was at Euro 2016 with Ramsey when Wales reached the semi-finals, has shared that the attack-minded midfielder hasn’t changed since he broke onto the scene at Arsenal.

“This is the beauty of Ramsey,” said Taylor. “Since I have known him. Since, he was 16 and 17, when he burst onto the scene at Arsenal.

“He will continue to try and make chances. He will continue to make them runs, even when he has missed a couple. He does brilliant for the goal and it’s a great finish. He probably could have had a hat-trick in the first half.

“Aaron, when he plays like this, shows why he is a Juventus player. And why he is so key for Wales.

“We missed him for a lot of the qualifying campaign, but as soon as he came back we can feel it.”

Arsenal need a bit of the magic that Ramsey produced in Baku because Mikel Arteta has been searching for that attack-minded nature to his midfield.

It was Gareth Bale’s pin-point cross from midfield that found a surging Ramsey, who left every Turkey player bemused, as his first touch and then finish put his side ahead in the first half, before the nerves were settled in stoppage-time thanks to Conor Roberts’ goal.

Ramsey may find game time tough in Juventus colours, but for his nation, he is thriving on such a big stage and it will be interesting whether it steers his future in another direction when the Euro’s conclude in July.
