Mesut Ozil raved about reported Arsenal target and his former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos on Twitter earlier this month.

According to a report in 90min published on Thursday, Arsenal are among a number of clubs interested in signing Ramos.

The Spain international central defender is out of contract at Spanish and European giants Madrid at the end of the season, and the Gunners are reportedly interested in signing him on a free transfer.

The North London club are claimed to have reached out to the representatives of the 34-year-old centre-back.

Ozil, who is not part of Arsenal’s Premier League or Europe League squad at the moment, played with Ramos when he was at Madrid from 2010 until 2013.

The 32-year-old is a big fan of Ramos, as the following post on Twitter suggests.

Ozil made the tweet following Ramos scoring his 100th goal for Madrid in their Champions League game against Inter Milan earlier this month.

During his time at Madrid so far, Ramos has won the La Liga title five times and the Champions League on four occasions.
