West Ham United star Tomas Soucek maintained his fine form with a hat-trick as the Czech Republic battered Estonia 6-2, with manager Jaroslav Silhavy hailing the red-hot midfielder via iSport.

With 13 strikes in his last 29 games now for club and country, West Ham’s midfield giant is the one of the most prolific central midfielders in European football right now.

And Soucek was the man of the moment once more as the Czech Republic made a brilliant start to their World Cup Qualification campaign against Estonia on Wednesday.

The former Slavia Prague captain completed a 15-minute hat-trick at the Arena Lublin, following a classic Soucek header with a laser-guided 25-yard drive and a simple, close-range tap-in.

“I’m glad Soucek is so hot and he did great today,” Silhavy said of the £19 million enforcer, who was named the Czech Republic Player of the Year before the game.

“He also confirmed his victory in the Footballer of the Year poll. We all wish him well and hope that the team will push on in the next few matches to reach the World Cup.”

“We definitely congratulated him, because a hat-trick is a hat-trick. He is in great shape and he is a key player for us,” added Jakub Jankto, the Sampdoria ace who struck the Czech Republic’s sixth of the night late on, via iRozhlas.

“There has not been such a player for a long time. A midfielder who scores nine goals in 30 matches, is simply great.”

With Belgium and Wales also jostling for position in Group E, Silhavy and co will be praying that Soucek stays fit and in form for the months to come.
