West Ham reportedly scouted Bologna’s Simone Verdi in September.

Simone Verdi’s agent has told Italian outlet RomaNews that his client will not be leaving Bologna in the January transfer window despite reportedly interesting West Ham United.
Verdi, 26, has been in mediocre form for Serie A side Bologna, scoring once and turning provider on one other occasion during his 11 league appearances this season, predominantly form the right flank.
TuttoMercatoWeb claimed back in September that West Ham had sent scouts to watch Bologna’s number nine play against Inter Milan, where he scored his only goal of the season during a 1-1 draw.

However, Verdi’s agent Donata Orgnoni has blocked any potential January transfers by stating that the attacker will not be leaving the Stadio Renate Dall’Ara in January, but refused to rule out a move beyond that.
“I don’t think it’s possible for him to go anywhere in the January transfer window. Officially we haven’t received offers or even been contacted, not even by Inter,” Orgnoni said.
“We renewed his contract at the end of last season, and he’s tied to Bologna until 2021.”

Since becoming West Ham manager in the summer of 2015, Slaven Bilic has made a number of signings from Serie A including current first-teamers Pedro Obiang and Angelo Ogbonna as well as flop striker Simone Zaza.
With West Ham’s current form being largely disappointing, the Hammers could dip into the January window but it appears they will have to look elsewhere than two-time Italy international Verdi.
