With Jack Wilshere’s contract at Arsenal coming to an end, a number of clubs have been linked with the England international midfielder, including West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle United and Everton.

With Wilshere and Arsenal unable to reach an agreement over a new contract, the 26-year-old is leaving the Gunners and is now a free agent.

According to The Daily Star, Premier League trio West Ham, Newcastle and Everton are all interested in securing the services of the midfielder on a free transfer.

Wolves, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship, have also been credited with interest in Wilshere by The Birmingham Mail.

West Ham United move

However, it seems that it is West Ham who have won the race for the services of Wilshere, with Sky Sports claiming that the Hammers are close to reaching an agreement with the former Arsenal star.

Simon Jordan has suggested an alternative destination for Wilshere – his former club Crystal Palace.

The former Palace chairman said on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (09:24am, July 6, 2018) about Wilshere: “Where he will land? I mean, Palace okay. Cabaye has just left, and they took a punt with Cabaye because he is that sort of a player. Maybe Crystal Palace would be a place for him to land.”

Joining West Ham United

Palace are a good club with a strong support, but West Ham are more ambitious with a superb manager in Manuel Pellegrini, who has won the Premier League title with Manchester City.

Joining West Ham over Palace would be the better decision for Wilshere, who is still only 26 years of age and has his best years ahead of him.
