Simon Jordan has shared what he thinks about Aston Villa chairman Tony Xia.

Xia took the Villans reins in June, following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

However, the Chinese businessman’s first 10 months have not gone quite as expected, with Villa looking set to miss out on an instant return to the Premier League.

Although quieter of late, Xia is known for his vocal social media presence, which has drawn plaudits and critics alike.

But when asked on Twitter if the 40-year-old was “too open”, Jordan, the former Crystal Palace chairman, replied: “No at a big big club like #avfc having had difficult times , sensible and open communication is what the fans should get ..as rebuild begins.”

Already on to his second manager since arriving in English football, Xia’s Villa reign finally looks to be heading in the right direction, with six wins in seven matches hoisting Steve Bruce’s side from 17th to 11th and only 10 points off the play-offs.

It is not the first time Jordan has passed comment on the Villans of late, pleasing fans with his response to being asked if he would consider buying local rivals Birmingham City.

On that occasion, the 49-year-old replied: “I have to be honest the best thing about BCFC is it’s around the corner from a proper football club in AVFC.”

What do make of Xia’s approach since taking the reins at Aston Villa?
