Newcastle United reportedly want to appoint Sheffield Wednesday boss Steve Bruce as their new manager.
Simon Jordan has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to speculation that Newcastle United are interested in appointing Sheffield Wednesday boss Steve Bruce as their new manager.
According to The Independent, Premier League club Newcastle are interested in appointing Wednesday boss Bruce as Rafael Benitez’s successor.
Benitez left the Magpies last month when his contract with the Premier League club ran out.
Former Crystal Palace chairman Jordan believes that the former Aston Villa and Hull City boss would be a good managerial appointment for Newcastle.
Jordan has also urged Newcastle to move past Bruce’s Sunderland connection.
The former Manchester United and Sheffield United central defender was in charge of Newcastle’s bitter rivals Sunderland from 2009 until 2011.
Bruce is a very good manager, and there is no doubt that he will be a very good appointment for Newcastle.
The problem is that Bruce was appointed the Wednesday manager in January 2019, and he may not be willing to leave the Championship club just yet.
