Pearce was appointed an assistant to manager David Moyes in November, having played for the Hammers from 1999 until 2001.
West Ham defended well against Chelsea and made it hard for the Blues’ attacker to find space.
Goalkeeper Adrian was superb between the sticks, and it was a very accomplished display, and there is no doubt that West Ham deserved to win all three points.
The win against Chelsea could prove crucial in the Hammers’ quest to finish outside the bottom three in the Premier League this season.
