Nottingham Forest reportedly want to appoint Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough as their new boss.

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to speculation linking Nigel Clough with a return to Nottingham Forest.

Clough is in charge of Burton Albion at the moment, but he has been linked with a move to Championship rivals Forest.

According to BBC Sport, the Reds want to appoint the Englishman as the new first-team manager following the dismissal of Philippe Montanier earlier this month.

It has been reported that Forest have asked permission to speak to Clough, who played for the club in the 1980s and the 1990s.

Former Palace chairman Jordan has had his say on the speculation on Twitter.

Forest are 19th in the Championship table at the moment with 30 points from 28 matches. The Reds are in real danger of getting relegated to League One at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Albion currently find themselves third from bottom in the standings with 25 points from 27 games, while Palace are 18th in the Premier League table with 16 points from 22 matches.
